Prevon

For students

A private notes app for students

Prevon keeps your notes encrypted on your own device and finds them by meaning, so a search for “the lecture on supply and demand” finds it even if you titled it “Week 4”. Nothing you write is sent to a cloud AI or used to train one.

What it is good at

  • Finding things. Search matches what a note means, not just its words, and runs on your device.
  • Keeping personal writing personal. Notes are encrypted with a key only you hold — no account, no email address.
  • Bringing your old notes with you from Google Keep, Apple Notes, Notion and others. How importing works.

One thing to understand first

Your vault is unlocked by 12 words that only you have. There is no “forgot password” link, because a reset link would mean someone other than you could get in. Write the words down and keep them somewhere safe. Why it works this way.

What it is not

Prevon is in a private beta and has not had an independent security audit. It is designed so that we cannot read your notes, but “designed” is the honest word until someone outside the company has checked it.

It is not a group-project tool: no sharing and no collaboration. In the beta there is also no sync between your own devices — a laptop and a phone each hold their own vault.

Prevon is in private beta.

There is no public download yet. Leave an email and we write once, when it opens to everyone.
