Prevon

For lawyers

A notes app for lawyers that keeps case notes on your device

Prevon encrypts your notes on your own device with a key only you hold, so the company that makes it has no readable copy of your client material. In the current beta, notes never leave the device they were written on.

What matters for case notes

Most cloud notes apps store your notes in a form the provider can read. Whether that is acceptable for client material is a question for your own professional obligations — Prevon’s part is to take the provider out of the picture.

Every note is encrypted on your device before it is stored, using a key made from your 12-word Recovery Seed. We never see the seed, never store it, and cannot reset it.

How it works in practice

  • No account: there is nothing on our side that links a vault to you or your firm.
  • Search by meaning, on your device — find the note about a clause without remembering its exact wording.
  • Import existing notes from Notion, Evernote, Apple Notes, Obsidian, Bear, Google Keep or plain text files, encrypted as they arrive. See every import source.
  • Lose your 12 words and your device together and nobody, including us, can recover the notes. That is the cost of there being no back door.

What Prevon does not claim

Prevon is in a private beta and has not had an independent security audit. It is designed so that we cannot read your notes, but “designed” is the honest word until someone outside the company has checked it.

Prevon makes no claim about privilege, confidentiality rules or any regulation. It is software that keeps a readable copy of your notes off our servers; whether it fits your obligations is your call.

There is no sharing, no collaboration and no sync between devices in the beta, so it is not a matter-management or team tool.

Prevon is in private beta.
